Visual-discrimination materials for early literacy

Children are keen observers and they take great pleasure in pointing out the differences in things be it color, size or shape. Concepts such as in front of, behind, near or far, bigger, smaller, taller and weight are concepts that are important to teach children in an early childhood environment. By providing engaging materials and exercises in these kinds of activities young children enhance their mathematical sense. Charts, graphs such as how many rainy days in May, how many bean plants have sprouted, how many boys to girls in the classroom and so on and so forth.
